Default 95 Golf III

Hi everyone. I'm new to the VW scene and I have a major problem. I have a 95 Golf III with the 2.0 motor in it. Well, I was in a rush to get home and I accidently ran out of gas. No problem, I thought. I went to the gas station and got gas and put it in the tank and tried cranking it back over. Nothing. I must've tried 100 times and I wouldn't start. I can hear the fuel pump priming and there's plenty of gas in it now 1/4 tank. Now the car won't even crank. It just clicks. Could it be a main relay? Or could I have clogged one of the feed lines when I ran the tank dry?

Thanks
