Default 88 Golf shorting somewhere

Hey, Im new to the forum. I have had this problem for about a week or so now. The oil pressure, and noise have been coming on sometimes when I'm going 55, or faster. Sometimes, when i start accelerating, the whole car jerks, the electrical system cuts out, and i notice my CD player coming back on.. I have just replaced the spark plug wires, so that more than likely isnt the problem. I noticed when my oil pressure light (without the tone) came on recently, the headlights either went brighter, or shut off. I couldnt really tell. It was in correlation with the oil pressure light though. What could this be?
Any help would be really appreciated,
Thanks
