2002 GT TDI Golf with engine trouble
Hi,
Can Anyone help me fix this problem, I have a Golf GT TDI 115BHP 2002. The problem is only when the car is started from cold. Once it gets to 30 degrees the ESP light comes on and stays on irrespective if you try turn if off using the button, this problem starts with another problem, The engine sounds very bad after 30 degrees, like it is not running on all cylinders, the best way i can describe the noise is like an old type VW beetle!!! to relieve the problem i keep going at as low a speed possible keeping the revs down and wait until the engine reaches its nominal 90 degrees running temp then i stop and restart the engine and it works perfect then. This problem starts every morning and every evening that the car is started from cold.
Thanks in advance! Evan

sounds like the temp switch for the computer not the dash gauge migh be lying down on the job.. It's showing a faulty reading cold untill it warms up , kinda like a bad fuel gauge the wont work below a half tank anything above that works great...
