2001 Golf GLS 1.8T dashboard warning lights??

Hi, I am thinking about purchasing a VW Golf, recently I test drove a used one from an owner, 2 lights were on the ABS, and an exclamation symbol with a circle then parenthesis around it. I was hoping some one could help me figure out the exclamation symbol meant. And whether or not these are both serious problems that should prevent me from purchasing the vehicle. The owner said that he knew of nothing that was wrong with the vehicle other than, it needed new brake pads. Thanks for your help. g

It should say on the manual that came with the car. But the exclamation symbol means... Tire pressure. If you have inflated those tires to the correct pressure, then it just needs to be reset.
Hope this helps. :)

Yes, I should have looked at the manual right there and then but did not. So I have not made the purchase yet and wanted to make sure through someone who did have a VW owners manual, what the actual meaning of this light was. Here is a link to the symbol I am seeing, the only difference is that it is orange.

The only thing I have seen is that it probably has to do with the brakes. But I got that info thru an Audi sight, so just needed a confirmation on that.

One other thing, (to those that are mechanically savvy) are these 2 lights coming on a sign of a lemon?

thanks.

I don't think is a lemon. It needs maintenance, if it already has high mileage. You should check it on carfax, just in case.
