VW Beetles convertible 1971

I am about to purchase a VW Beetles convertible 1971 model with a vin number 1112919581 and I wanted to verify if it is an original convertible according to the vin I stated earlier. I also wanted to know if its engine number 692256 is the original engine.

The car also features a curved front windshield which is strange because as far as I know it was introduced to the 1973 Super Beetle.

I would like to verify the above please and if you can fill me in on additional info on this car.
