torque setting for 2001 cabrio rear spindle hex nut?

anyone know it?im havein one hell of a time with it and i cant find the torque for it anywhere,i thought i did and it said 184ft pounds but it cant be right b/c i sripped the treads on the hex nut...so i donno please help...
