Side view mirror replacement

Hi all,

I have a 2002 Cabrio and my side view mirror came off when a chunk of tire in the road flew up and hit it. The housing and motor are still intact and in great condition, and the motor even still works. I have gone to the dealership, but they want to replace the entire housing, motor and mirror glass. Is there any way I can just get a replacement for the mirror glass without having to drop all the money on the new housing and motor? I have searched online, but there only seems to be replacements for up to 1999 models. Much thanks in advance!

RE: Side view mirror replacement

Just wanted to note that I replaced the OEM mirror glass with one purchased at my local VW Dealer on our '95 Cabrio. Piece of junk. The backing paint started flaking off after about 15 months around the edges. The heater connections are there, but I'm not sure they work 100%. I think the mirror was around $30.00 so you might want to try an older vintage one as they all look pretty much the same.
