Replacing starter in 99 Cabrio
 

Trouble installing starter on 99 VW Cabrio. Long starter bolts won't start after installing new starter. Looks like nuts are welded onto a separate piece of metal that shifted slightly after removing old one. Can't find a good place for a pry bar to nudge it back. Any suggestions??
