Installing fuel pump relay for engine swap

Hello, I have a 1993 cabriolet with a 1998 2.0 ABA (obd2) engine swap. I verified the other day when I connect power to both my fuel pumps directly to the battery at start, the car starts and runs.

I am having issues using the stock fuel pump relay and wanted to install a separate relay switch. My issue is how do I make it so the pumps prime at start and cut off in case of an accident.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The standard fuel pump relay should cope, do you have the correct fuel pup relay?

First thing I did was buy the fuel pump relay stock to the 1993 cabriolet. I tested it and it works. Clicks at when turning ignition. But when I was testing fuses the fuel pump fuse, S5, was not receiving voltage on either side of the fuse. I tried a new fuse but still no voltage when key turned.

The link below is where I sourced some information from a similar swap. If you scroll down to the wiring section it says, to take the OBD2 ge/bl(yellow/blue) wire, which is the "fuel pump turn on" wire and connect it to the negative side of the ignition coil to use the stock fuel pump relay.

I tried doing so but I wasn't sure if it meant the ground/earth or the center wire(black/red) going to the ecu. I connected the ground but it didn't work. Link below is the ignition coil diagram for the MK3 from my bentley.

Let me know what you think,
Thanks

Its hard to say how the fuel pump relay is wired without checking ElsaWin. Goggling with show loads of makes and models which won't match yours.

I wired up a relay switch. 85 to ignition power, 86 to ecu fuel pump wire, 87 to battery and 30 to both fuel pumps. Crossed my fingers, turned the key and boom, started right up. I purposely stalled it and no power to the pumps(double checked with multimeter) Now I just have to clean up the wiring. Excited to cross a major thing off of my list. Just a couple mechanical things and should be road worthy in no time.
