How to check the car's computer?
I went to Autozone the other day to have them check my car's computer because the check engine light is on. Unfortunately, when the guy came out to check the computer he couldn't find where to plug the device in. [&:]lol
Can someone please tell me where to plug in the thing that reads the computer so I can go back and have them check it.
My car is a '97 VX Cabrio convertable.

Not sure if your cabbie is the same as mine since i drive a newer 01 cabrio but........mine is rightabove my cigarette lighter in the square push button row. Underneth my turns dials for temp. and vents.. In this row there's my hazards, rear defrost, a/c buttons. It's the last one on the right towards passenger side the cpu clip that is. When i bought it, the purple cpu clip was exposed and there was no cover. I want to say there's a fake non push cover to go over it but i might be wrong as hell....lol. Hence it was not on when i bought. Don't know if yours will be the same but worth takin' a looksie into.
**** Also if anybody reads this and i am right and you KNOW WHERE to get a cover online or anywhere PLEASE REPOST where i may find it ******
Hope this turns out some good info.

Yes, you're correct, that's where it is! Thanks so much!
By the way, yeah, there's a cover over it that makes it look like nothing's there, lol. I'm sure you could get one at a VW dealer.
