Default Heat vs. AC

Well, it's starting to get colder again....

The AC in my '98 is sooooo ice and ice cold, that even on the hottest of days (and we've had a few hot ones in Atlanta this summer), I need to mix in at least 1/2 heat, or just run the AC only 25% of the time. That's great!

However, the heat is just as ice cold as the AC. It takes 3 miles to get an increase in air temp, and even after 47 miles (drive to work), the air just doesn't get really warm. It wasn't this bad last year. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

could be the thermostat, have you had any issues with overheating or engine not heating up very fast?
