Grinding noise when accelerating '99 Cabrio GL

Some background: 82k original miles. Until recently I only drove about 200 miles per month. Now it's more but only 500 to 700. In Los Angeles, HORRIBLE roads and very hot lately. I hear the grinding noise when I am accelerating. It sounds like it's coming from the front right tire. That's where I just had a camber bolt installed on a recent alignment. I got new CV boots a few months back. Front brakes about 18 months ago. I do know that the shocks are leaking but they're not depleted and it's something we've just been keeping an eye on. The clutch is a little high but it works fine. Sometimes it's a little tricky going into 2nd. What could this be? I know obvious first step is mechanic but can't see him until at least Mon. Aug. 31. It's Sat. Aug. 29.

The reason I mentiones horrible roads is I think maybe something just bounced up into a joint or narrow area and is making a scary sound, but nothing really wrong. This is what I'm hoping because I will sell this car within six months. That's another thread, but anyone who wants to talk selling, message me! Thank you all for any replies!

I had kind of the same issue with noise when accelerating, but I had checked it with my dealer and he said that the problem was that something got inside of exaust when driving on horrible roads
