Default fixing up a 1995 VW Cabrio, suggestions?

I have a couple problems I need to address on my VW Cabrio and I need some advice on the problems.

I need to get new seals for the convertible top, take care of some minor dents, get a power cable through the firewall or where ever some thinks the best place for a stereo wire would be, get all the pins on the trip-odometer to touch correctly(every now and again the odometer just falls to zero), and get a new trunk handle.
I will post the other problems later when I get a chance. Any and all advice is welcome for I am new to the car and VW world. But, I have fallen in love with my VW and plan to take very very good care of it. It is my German mistress...

The seal for the convertible top is a great idea. I have a Cabrio as well and it leaks during really heavy rain or when I wash my car. If you still have the stock headlights, you may want to replace them. My Cabrio has the original headlights and it's visibility is VERY difficult in the rain. Thay are very dim. Just out of curiosity, do you have a 5 speed or automatic? And had your tansmission been giving you any problems?

It's a five speed, and the transmission has not had any problems granted i just got the car about a week and a half ago. I took it to my mechanic and my dad and i looked over the car looking for problems and did not find any big issues. It is my first car.

That's good. I have an automatic and it's been giving me many, many expensive problems. I researched it and it turns out Cabrio automatics pretty much suck. I wish I had a 5 speed!

Me too, I have had a blast in the car and plan on doing something about the interior and exterior part of the car.
