Ecm
first time on forum. 1995 cabrio, no spark. I have read many, many threads on this topic. My question is- If no CEL when key turned on, does that mean my ECM is bad.
New coil,CPS. Have power to ecm, coil, fuel pump. Timing confirmed at belt and distributor. I new about issues when I bought the car ($400 and in excellent shape). I am not in hurry, but have not seen a concrete answer about the ECM question. Lastly, If different ecm is needed, do the numbers have to be the same? Mine is a 258H, I have not found that number on any parts list I have seen. Will an ECM with the same number, but ending in AH work? thanks very much |

The CEL and other warning lights should do a self test when you turn the ignition on. You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing. You will need another ecu with the same part number if you need to replace it. https://volkswagenforum.com/forum/ne...gnature-34185/ |
