abs sensors 99.5 Cabrio
I need to replace, I think, the rear abs sensors. How do I determine if they are the female plug type or the male plug type. Just had the rear brakes and rotors replaced by a back yard mechanic. Everything seems to be working great but the ABS light and brake light stay on. He said he cleaned the exterior crud off the sensors but they would probably have to be replaced. I'm looking online for the parts and discover there are two types of rear sensors - female plug and/or male plug. Also, thinking of doing the replacements myself. Where can I find a good tutorial to accomplish this task?

reluctor ring??
Might you be suggesting that the reluctor ring could be replaced independantly of the entire sensor???
Thanks for your answering my first inquiry. |
Since I just experienced the same thing, I would check the reluctor ring (ABS ring) before buying sensors.

Just unplug the connector and you should see if its a male or female connector. Generally its the reluctor ring that get corroded so the sensor doesn't pick up the gaps correctly. =>Speed Test
