99 Cabrio won't start

Car was hard to start several times & now won't start at all. Has spark & fuel pressure, at least to regulator. Fuel pump replaced 6 mos ago, new fuel filter, no codes, plugs good. Don't think fuel is getting past regulator but don't know if this necessarily means bad reg. How do you check? Have looked for days at posts in several forums & can't find answer. Any help or point in right direction would be appreciated.

are you in cold weather? that always seems to make mine hard to start.

did you try taking it to your local vw dealership? they might be able to give you some advice. best of luck!

Well there is a simple check for that Robert.

Remove the distributor cap and the coil king lead the centre one in the cap and hold it about 8mm away from the rotor arm and get someone to crank it over. If sparks jump to the rotor arm then the rotor arm is fault as the sparks will be jumping to earth inside the rotor arm.
