98 Cabrio wet instrument panel wiring

Default 98 Cabrio wet instrument panel wiring

In a heavy rain my son's 98 cabriolet instrument panel malfunctions showing no RPM, oil light on etc. even though car is running, what causes this

You need to check for water ingress. You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

Hi Keith,

I didn't realize that. I am inquiring for my son. He has no interest in cars, so I thought I would lend a hand. I will see if can get the error codes
