1987 Cabriolet Fuel Filter Question
 

I picked up a cheap Cabriolet that I am in the process of restoring.
It has been in storage for years and has the tell tale varnish smell of bad gas.
I have replaced the fuel filter in the engine compartment but it looks like another filter back by the fuel pump, it is not an in-line though ...the inlet and outlet are on the same end of the filter.

I can not find this filter anywhere.....is it a filter or something else?
