Sudden loss of power?
 

I have a '65 Beetle that was running great, despite the fact that the mechanic said eventually the engine would need to be rebuild due to loose cams. Well, this morning I noticed the car's power has been cut by at LEAST 50%. It almost feels like the brakes (which I recently had done) are holding it back.
Does anyone have any ideas before I take it to a mechanic?


After revving the engine itself (without using the accelerator) I realized that the problem was not with the engine, thankfully. I took it to a mechanic who fixed the pedal. Of course, it runs great now!
