Stalling issue

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to fix an issue i have. My daughter bought a 98 Beetle 2.0L. It starts and rungs great for 24 minutes. Once the fan turns on, the car dies. I have replaced the Crank position sensor and battery. I have hooked it up to my computer and it doesnt have any codes. The temp is around 210 degrees when the fan kicks on and dies. If i disconnect the fan it seems to start back up and run but i dont want to run it too long and risk overheating. The A/c and heater dont work either so i am wondering if there is a correlation between the 2 and it stalling. Yesterday i hooked a fuel pressure gauge and inline spark detector to the car and ran it until it stalled. The fuel pressure remained but once it stalled it had no spark when i turned it over? Sorry for the long post, i am just out of ideas.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.

I don't have a vagcom scanner but scanned with auto engin unity on my laptop and my portable reader and there were no codes. Is there an inexpensive vagcom scanner on the market?

There are plenty of cheap EOBD scanners on the market from £7 but they give false results. There is only one DIY scanner for VAG vehicles. VCDS I know they aren't cheap.

Thanks. Unfortunately i dont have the funds to be buying an expensive diagnostic tool, especially after i have spent so much in parts. I will just keep checking components.
