How can I find out when the shoulder belts were in the first beetle? And are they required

 

i am betting you got a seatbelt ticket??? in illinois 1965 and newer vehicles have to have seat belts even if you have to retro fit something that never had them. and 1982 mfg. and newer must have shoulder restraint. hope i could help.
