restore or sell 73 super beetle auto stick
Hi all. I will be inheriting a 73 super beetle auto stick model from a friend for FREE!! The pic is attached. The paint needs some help as it is black on orange and the orange is poking through the bubbles. Also it hasn't been run for 10 whole years and I was thinking of changing out some common things like spark plugs, cap and rotor, belt, fluids... Also the inside seats and panels have already been restored and look new.
Assuming it runs ok still, would I get the best bang for my buck if I get it running and sell it OR running and new paint OR other ideas? I was thinking of grinding down the paint myself and removing all hardware to save money in the paint job if necessary. Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Steve

RE: restore or sell 73 super beetle auto stick
Hi Stevan,
Where are you and what would you take for the car "as is"? I want to build a Baja bug as part of a father-son project for my 14 year old's first car and I already have the kit for a Super Beetle . . . I can be reached via e-mail at: jon_doerr@intuit.com if you are interested.
Thanks,
JD
