just bought a VW beetle 1969 model (READ)

Just bought a VW beetle 1969 model, the fella that was the past owner says it was a 1500S is there such thing of that year? please help me!????!!???!!

Been in VW a long time, and never heard of a 1500s
The 1969 had a 1600 cc engine and was 57 hp.if it
has the correct engine in it.
