Inside door handle not working.

Inside door handle not working.
Hello!
I have a 2003 Beetle named Beetlejuice. His inside driver side door handle is not working. The outside works just fine. I took the door apart and discovered a broken little hook thing. The little hook thing is supposed to be attached to a little wire thing that runs toward the hinge of the door. I am pretty sure I can fix this if i can find a new hook and wire thingie. Unfortunately my searches of VW parts website and live chats with representatives have yielded no part name or number. Does anyone know that name of the part or have experience working on the inside of a beetle door? I feel a little silly when I have to roll down the window and reach out to open the door from the outside.
