engine stalling
 

I have a 2005 VW turbo Beetle. The engine has started to either just shut off (the whole car just dies) or it will slow way down and then go back to normal speed after a few seconds. I am not sure whats going on and need ideas before i take it in to be looked at. anyone else have these issues? thanks
