Default Engine Oil around spark plugs...

While changing the sparkplugs on the 1.8, I noticed engine oil around the sparkplugs. I could not see any cover gasket leaks though.

Where could the oil com from?

Now thats a strange thing the oil on spark plugs thread. If the cam cover/rocker cover gasket isn't leaking I've now idea where it comes from.

Good morning,
I am the technical manager at Autolite spark plugs. the 1.8 has seals under the valve cover that seal around the spark plug wells. they get brittle and leak oil into the plug wells. The seals come with a good quality valve cover gasket. Oil on the plug boots will cause misfires too.
Good luck fixing, let me know if you need repair instructions.

Thanks for providing a batter suggestion to know about the spark plugs problem. I prefer to regular time checked my cylinder heads and also do auto services. I thinks it's a nominal problem to spark plugs nearest the engine.
