dead engine, 74'.
 

purchased a 74 super beetle. died on my way home! sounds like it seized up! hoping it didnt blow a rod to! starting to diagnose this. I am starting with the starter. The seller said he recently put in a new starter. But i want to see if the starter kept engaging while i was driving. Does anyone know how I get to my starter?

Starter is located under the car Passanger side behind the rear wheel. Yes you will have to get a little dirty on this one, It is much easier to remove the passanger side rear wheel. It will be quite obvious. Hope this helps ...... Stephen:eek:
