Cuts out
I am trying to get a 1965 beetle running which I believe has had a recent engine re-build. It has new distributor, points and condenser. And I have just fitted a new carb. The starter isn't up to much, as sometimes it seems to be sticking and the engine won't turn. Then I can go back and the engine whizzes over.
Prior to fitting the carb I was having difficulty starting. It starts better now, but always after a couple of minutes it just cuts out. It's driving me crazy, and I am not really that mechanically minded. I can take things apart and put them back together, and even follow basic test instructions. But I just don't know where to start looking to sort this out.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.[]

RE: Cuts out
Just a guess, sounds like a couple of things, #1 the valves
will get tight, and cause it to cut out when it warms up, adjust the valves. #2 The condenser could be the wrong valve if it's after market, need on for the VW, also check the
points gap.
