Carburetor Troubles! Can't get a good idle

Hello, just replaced my entire carburetor except for my fuel cut off solenoid (in the mail) and I am still having problems with keeping my car idling. When I let my foot off the gas in gear the idle slows, but does not stall. When putting clutch down and coming to a stop though, when letting up on all pedals in neutral, I just stall. Even if the car is first started up in the morning it wont idle unless i hold the gas a little bit. Can anyone point me out to a guide for adjustment because I think thats all it needs. It is a 34 pict 3 carb. At first I couldnt get it to start at all and then found my vacuum lines to the carb were mixed up, but at least it is running and driving now, just not as it should be.

Your help is greatly appreciated

I can do that, I am not sure where I would find those though. All I know is it is a 72 Super Beetle with the autostick transmission, a 34 pict 3 carb and the 1600 engine

If you replaced the complete carburetor apart from the cut off solenoid (in the mail). Is the old cut off solenoid still inserted and does it have a 12v supply when the ignition is switched on?

i used my test light to check for voltage and the cut off solenoid is getting power. I pulled it out of the carburetor and turned the key and nothing happened, it did not move at all. I am going to wait until the solenoid come in the mail to install it and see if that as the problem

A test light isn't the best tool you need a voltmeter to measure the voltage.

When you turn the ignition on and off you should hear the solenoid click, wait till the new one arrives and try that.
