Is this car really rare like my friends say?
 

So, I just bought this 74 Super Beetle that was advertised as a Manual tranny, and it turned out to be an auto stick!
I am unsure if that is a good thing or not, My Vw friend says its super rare, I am unsure, cant find any real info on
it on the internet. Did i just buy a piece of junk or what?

not sure how rare, but my buddy bought one just like that, primer gray, and the auto stick a little while back.. we tried to drive it to his house and it made it about 3 miles. then couldnt find enough power to get it in gear again. that transmission is insane, but his was whacked none-the-less. you had to throw it in gear as hard as you could and it would fight and grind not to go in. anywho, he decided to sell it a week after buying it because he didnt want to put the work and money into it i guess, but he got it for a steal at about 400 bucks.
ive heard they are rare though
