Bow on Drivers side door

I recently learned that the part that holds the drivers side exterior door handle and lock cylinder in place is called the bow. I broke the bow after I installed a door actuator in the drivers side door and put the lock cylinder back in place. I pushed the lock cylinder into its opening next to the exterior door handle and tried to finish the install by screwing in the mounting screw through the threads of the bow, but the bow cracked. I replaced the bow, but the lock cylinder doesn't stay in place. Any ideas.

Thank you for responding to my post Keithuk. Below is a link to the image of the door bow I installed in my 2001 New Beetle. I have also attached a file that is a blow up diagram of the door parts that includes the bow circled in red. Hopefully this may help someone help me fix this door lock problem.
