Hello all, I am currently on the hunt for a first car and I am interested in a beetle. I want a car that is light, efficient, and relatively fast. I have a budget of about $10,000 minus the car. I want to shoot for the 200hp-250hp mark. I don't want to spend more than $5,000 on the engine if possible (to allow me to buy wheels, tires, and some body mods.) I was hoping that you could give me some recommendations as to what I should look for in the engine department, I am new to the VW scene so include as much detail as you'd like to. I am fairly mechanically handy and have friends that can help me with installs.
