Hi Guys,
I have a 1971 Bug and am currently rebuilding it. However I don't want to put stock wheels or EMPI's on it. Does anyone know a manufacturer that make wheels to fit a classic bug. I've looked at various manufacturers but to be honest don't know a lot about what I should be looking for in terms of the right sizes and dimensions to fit my hubs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I really want something in a 17" rim if possible.

Don't know about the 17' thing, but the engine and transmission
are both set up for the exact size wheel and tire the bug came with
from the factory. If you change wheels, be sure the wheel and tire
isn't any taller than the original, Taller or smaller changes the gear
ratio, taller will work the engine harder and it will over heat, smaller
will let the engine run like crazy to keep up the speed and that
over works it. I made a lot of money because of this very thing
going on back in my Volkswagen repair days.
