'74 Beetle Width & Weight?
 

Hi, new member here.

Love your forum. I plan on doing a lot of reading here.
I have owned a '63 and a '68 Beetle and also a '72 Van.
Wish I'd kept that '63. That was a GREAT little car. Lots of good times were had in that car!

I have just purchased a '74 Beetle and will need to haul it 187 miles on a trailer.
Does anyone know the aproximate width and weight of this car or where I might find out?

This VW has a rebuilt motor with 3200 miles on it, new paint and all the upholstery redone.
It's been parked in a barn since 1998. Seller tells me it runs good and everything works except the wipers.
Tires are dry rotted and I don't want to drive it until I get some new oil in it.

The Width is 61.001 in / 1549.4 mm.
Length - Length 163.401 in / 4150.4 mm.
Weight - 1831 lbs / 830.5 kg

Got the bug home safe and sound. She's beautiful !
It's in great shape, with a bit of rust here and there, a few electrical problems and a trunk release cable that's stuck.
Other than that, no complaints.

Found some OEM hubcaps for her on eBay. Can't wait for them to get here.
Guess where those ugly wheel covers are headed. [sm=signs007.gif]
