68 beetle - 2 stay original or 2 upgrade
 

that is the question.
I bought a 68 beetle from original owner, all original except a valve job.

I can make up my mind to restore as original or upgrade.
Brakes could be changed to disk brakes, points can be replaced with electronic ignition, generator to alternator kit, rebuilt engine could have hydraulic lifters. Oil tank air cleaner could be replaced.

does that ruin an original bug, or make it better? It still has black plates.
