'63 beetle: what battery is proper?
 

Need new battery in wife's '63 beetle. Old one came with this used VW a while back and I'm not sure it's proper. It is about the size of a group 24, side terminals. What was original and what is best size, etc., to buy?

While out, I'm dressing the, "under-battery," area with POR-15 and getting that spot in good shape. I don't even know what original hold-down the battery had.

Obviously I'm a little new to VW maintenance; lots of experience on other stuff.

Also in the market for a decent '63 owners/glove cubby manual.
