2002 beetle turbo s 1.8 starts but won't run
2002 beetle turbo s- The wife drove it to work and then when she came out it would not start and run. The car will crank and will hit but only runs long enough to take rpms up and then dies. It will not idle. My first thought was that it was fuel related. I checked the pressure. It was at 39 psi, I put in a filter, Pressure is now at 43 psi. The car did not change. I tested the maf, cam sensor, crank sensor, knock sensor. I checked the car for codes. There are none. I checked the timing belt and replaced it since I was there. I checked the input voltage to the coils and have 12 volts. I checked the injectors with a noid light and they seem to be working electrically anyway. The car had the coils replaced in August. I decided that it might be bad fuel and I drained out all the fuel and replaced it with new fuel. I checked the ignition switch and the immobilizer and it does not seem to be either of these. I checked all of the easily accessible fuses. I guess that there is some more inside of the dash, but I don't see how a full grown man reaches any of those. I am considering hiring the kid down the block to fit in to some of these tight spaces.I have gone back and done some of the checks twice at this point. I checked all of the vacuum lines. I checked the operation of the throttle plate. I checked all the intake hoses and the intercooler for leaks or damage. I replaced the spark plugs. I performed a compression test and the numbers were good and even across the boards. I don't know what else to test or check. I am not a VW guy, so I was hoping that there is something that I am overlooking. Thanks in advance for anything that you guys can think of.
