I have a 02 beetle 1.8 turbo. It recently lost throtle response while driving feeling sluggish while coming up to speed and also started idling very rough. When u press accelerator while parked it gas a hesitation and a flutter before revving Any idea what may be causing this.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing.
