my 02 beetle wont start it was running fine then I parked it at work now it wont start. I took the fuel line off at the filter and there is no fuel so I I filled the filter with fuel and bled the injector lines witch were full of air bubbles but it still wont start. Any help would greatly app. thank you Chris O.

First do the obvious, check all the fuses. This means the oneson the left side ofthe dash and the ones on top of the battery. If they are all good then go to the following steps. Two things you can check are the glow plugs and thefuel delivery system. Put a VTM on one of the plugs and turn the ignition on to see if there is current to light the plugs for start. Do this for each plug. If they have current then disconnect each one and check for continunity. You should get a solid ground for each one. If they check out go to the fuel delivery system.First clean the area around the number one fuel injector line fitting. Then lossen the fitting one half turn. Put a towel around the fitting to catch the fuel and crank the engine. If a steady stream of fuel is noted the delivery system is working.Hope this will help you get started on finding the problem.

I do not have a steady stream of fuel just spurts of fuel and air bubbles also note the car has been inside so i do not think the fuel is jelled up or anything like that. thank you for your reply

That is correct, there is no in tank pump as does the gas version. Sounds like you may have an air leak in the line off the tank. Use a hand held vacuum pump on the return line and see if it draws bubbles. If so check all the fitting on the supply side from the tank to the injector pump. The fuel tank is under the rear seat.
