just to let people know who may need to, I had trouble finding the correct way to cancell a beetle service light, lots of info for golfs etc but not the beetle, however i have the answer and thought it was worthy of sharing.

Hold trip button in whilst ign OFF
turn on ign whilst still holding trip IN
Release the trip button
press trip button IN until 'service' disapears from the disply
switch OFF ign.

hope it helps someone.

Hi thanks for the info, but should you crank the car or not, and how long should you hold the trip in the second time. I tried and the only thing i saw that changed was the trip meter changed from miles 0.0 to some other meter showing 4 zeros

 

hi, hold the button in until service disapears, it takes a few moments possibly a minute, dont turn the engine over just turn the ignition on so the lights are on on the dash.
