you need a timing light
hook it up to #1 spark plug
shine it on the crank pully there is a small notch on the pully you line up with the case halfs

ok so i just rebuilt the carb and cleaned all the jets one was all junked up with stuff but i am still having a problem with the generator i dont get voltage from the df terminal when connected with the d+ terminal but i do get voltage when the voltmeter is connected to the brush that connects to the df terminal, and the d+ terminal. is it ok if i just connect the wire that goes to the df terminal straight to the df brush?
