coils (suspension) on mk4
 

hi,

the coils in the rear of my mk4 have a rubber piece on top - and looks like either there was never one on the bottom or it has disintegrated. do i need something on the bottem? could this be why i am getting some knock/clunks in back? just replaced the shocks - and checked shock mounts (rear).
