Alright, first off:

THIS CAR IS RUNNING MECHANICALLY SOUND AND HAS BEEN A DAILY DRIVER FOR ME. I love this car. I hope you will too. Her name is Jenna. The Jetta.

It is a Manual 5 speed 1.6L Diesel 4cyl. Wonderful gas mileage. 50+ MPG. I literally only fill up once a month for $40. If your work isn’t close, I can assure that you’re gonna win with gas mileage.
It has 170k miles on the body, but only 40k on the newly REBUILT ENGINE. Key words.... Re. Built. Which is a GOOD thing.

I am asking $2100

There. Now that we’ve gotten that outta the way... I have spent a good amount of money on this car, more than I am selling it for. I am taking a loss to provide someone with a dependable car for what I believe to be a good deal. The reason I am selling is because I found a Passat Wagon at a deal that I couldn't pass up. I know the in’s and out’s of this car and will be fully honest in my description:

Total ($150)
-------------

As you can see, I have spent $1800+ in repairs alone.

PROS:
Timing belt done within past year.
Currently the mechanic’s of the car are in excellent condition and the engine has never left me stranded. As you can see from the list of repairs, a lot of the basics have been covered.
Great gas mileage. 50+ on a regular basis
Tachometer works!
Rebuilt engine.
New headlights/tail lights in the past year
GOOD SEALS. No leaks in sunroof or any doors. You won’t get wet! It’s golden.
Recent glow plugs. Starts up easy in the cold.
Functioning block heater for those really cold days under 15.

CONS: (that don’t effect the drivability of the car)
Paint on the top has faded. (I actually think it adds character, though)
The drivers side door handle is stuck pretty hard. I used to be able to open it, but not anymore. Just needs a new handle. I haven’t taken the time to buy one and put it in.
No antenna. Just needs to be bought and screwed on.
No radio/CD player. Never bought one for it.
Back windows do not have the motors installed, but I do have parts ready to put in.
Odometer doesn’t work :( Have to keep track manually.
Passenger side BACK door doesn’t lock. (this can be easily fixed)
Will need new wiper blades soon(electronics work well)
Ceiling lining is coming of in the back. This can be replaced.
3 cracks in the dash.

What you will get:
1986 Jetta GL
Original owners manual
Bentley Service Manual(1985-1992)
All service records/receipt’s (these will be copied)
Back window motors
1 doughnut spare in the trunk
2 full size spare tires(decent condition)
4 keys: 1 master for trunk and ignition, 3 that only opens doors.

Why I’m selling:
AGAIN: Just bought myself a Passat Wagon(at a deal I couldn’t pass up) so I no longer need my Jetta. Not enough driveway space or time to finish restoration. Hopefully someone else will enjoy it just as much as I have!

Again, $2100.
