Forgive me, but I have a 1981 VW LT28 camper (I know I know), and had a problem with the carb that someone has just looked at - basically when the choke was pulled it wasn't adjusting the flap that controls the air/fuel mix. Now that appears to be fixed and the van will now start, after some coaxing, without choke, however it will not start if I use the choke and also if I pull the choke out a little it just cuts out.....anyone got any ideas or suggestions....please don't say scrap it, I already had enough of people telling me that!
