Hi all,

Does anyone here know anything about the VW Thing? I know zip, zero, nuffin', nadda about VW, but someone gave be a beat up old Thing. Are these cars worth trying to restore? What sizeengines came in them? Did they have much horsepower or torque? I would be grateful for any info.

So you got a VW Thing,,,,,,,man those are rare as hen's teeth.
Yep...Keep it for sure. They were a sort of on road off road
vehicle with jeep in mind, They had the beetle engine and a bus
tranny, geared to pull, didn't have a lot of speed but did great for
what they were intended for. They were an after thought from the
German command car in WW 11 . IT WOULD BE GOOD TO
KEEP AND RESTORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
