Restoring A VW Rabbit Pickup

Restoring A VW Rabbit Pickup
I am interested in buying a small, fuel efficient truck, and the Rabbit Pickup fits that criteria. However, they are kind of rare and I am worried about finding parts. Do the VW Rabbit Pickups use all the same parts as the normal VW Rabbits? If so how difficult is it to find VW Rabbit parts?
Also, the one I am looking at getting has a broken speedometer and a broken left signal. How hard would it be to fix those?

Welcome to the forum.
You don't say where you live?
The Rabbit was only sold in Canada and USA which is based on a Golf. The mechanical parts for a pickup are going to be the same for the saloon (I would assume).
As for the speedo not working check the drive cable isn't broke and the drive gear.
ETKA still shows part numbers for the Rabbit. VOLKSWAGEN USA

I didn't think to put my location on, but yeah I live in the United States. Since the parts are the same as the Golf/Rabbit, they should be easy to find, so that's good. People really use their Rabbit pickups, so most of them are really beat up, but you can't find a truck with that great fuel mileage.
