have a 67 bus that keeps sliping out of 4th only have any ideals

 

Keep me up to date if you find any answers, I have a 1.6l Rabbit pushing about 180hp hooked up to a built 3rib bus in my buggy and I've been having the same problems. My brother thinks its the syncros going out but I am not sure.

Same exact deal tho, every other gear feels strong, first is a little hard to find, but I'm new to the whole VW feel, so I assumed that was just normal. No slipping or grinding, even going into 4th, but as soon as you put it in 4th and there is a little load on it, it kicks it right out of gear. I can hold the shifter once engaged in 4th and have no problems with it...
