Hi folks, i just got my first Volkswagen and i have a problem i was hoping other forum members may have come across or might know about. First of all the car is a 1.4 Petrol 16V 1999 Bora with 90k miles up on the clock- it was bought from a garage (Mazda Dealership though) so i have a warranty and have the car booked in 2moro morning. Anyway the problem is with the gear box- i am having difficulty getting the car into gear without requiring an unusual amount of force. The strange thing is it is fine when i am climbing up the gears but when going back down they are incredibly difficult particularly going from third to second gear. You have to keep the pressure against the gear stick while clutching until it slips in. Also the car seems to just go dead some times when it goes back to idle speed coming out of gear but only at low speeds. Im really dissapointed by all this as i should have picked it up during the test ride- please advise, cheers, Stephen
