Default 02 EuroVan Climatronic issue

My '02 EuroVan Climatronic system is 'horked'. The "Ambient Air Temperature" indicator reads "r6F" or "r5F" and no matter what the thermostats are set to, it always blows HOT (not just warm) air once the engine warms up. I SUSPECT there is a problem with the outside temp sensor and that's fooling the Climatronic into thinking it's really cold outside (5 or 6 F) so it wants to make heat no matter what the REAL outside temp is.

Anyone have any ideas? The DEALER who's working on the darned thing is pretty stumped.

Thanks!
