What is this??
 

Just bought this 06 Jetta and can't figure out what this above the glove box. It has a wirering harness that goes threw the glove box up into it. But has no plug for a connection on any kind.

It looks like a phone adaptor.

Yes, that's what I thought as well but there is no way for a phone to stay in and the power source has no adapter for a cable of any sort.
